Oh my, I'm amazed.
The Bentley did just look like a bigger big BMW.

But the Rolls made my eyes bleed.
Fortunately I was driving so was able to cleanse them by quickly checking Myspace.
I think some of your transport rants are misplaced, but you're spot on with this one. Leaving aside any environmental considerations that Roller is appallingly ugly. What a betrayal of their artistic heritage. If I wanted a black cab I'm pretty sure I could get one much cheaper.

I have purposely left my girl Greta out of this, and I even stopped myself from completing the sentence, "respect for the dead...

...hanging off the front grille, because the driver couldn't see them".

No this is about the Rolls looking as ugly as, well, me.

The Bentley only got dragged into it because it was the same drive and also so big the driver couldn't handle it.

Sussex, by the sea
HAving worked a few years in Chi I saw my fair share of rollers. On the big roundabout by the lake, the first I saw reminded me of this.

Similar weight.

i like your use of the word, insanely; how thick do you want a car carpet?

does it improve the quality of your life enough?
I'm not sure. I drove a Ghost years ago and the carpet must've been about three/four inches deep. Feels lovely on your feet! So in that respect, it improved the quality of my journey!

I think I can honestly say I've never been barefoot in a car. Maybe flip flops on a holiday

To be fair, the quality and attention to detail is unbelievable. Some of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in, insanely thick carpets, high quality woods and leather throughout. I've been around the factory at Goodwood and there is so much that is built or put together by hand, compared with the vast majority of cars. Which is what'd you'd expect if you're paying through the nose for it, to be fair.

But yeah, it's a lot of money to spend on a car, but what Bentley and RR have realised is that there are PLENTY of people with that amount of money to spend.
Not my cup of tea, but you are correct.

We live near Chi and frequently see Rollers in all their shapes and guises.
Yup, I think the Cullinan looks awful from the outside and if I had the dosh, it certainly wouldn’t be on my wish list. On the other hand, I was parked next but one to a gorgeous looking Rolls in a Chi car park the other day (don’t know the model) and I just had to go and have a look round it and peer inside……
absolutely beautiful. I slunk back to my very comfortable Jag and thought, if only. That Roller would definitely be on my wish list.

One of the dads at my son's school now rocks up in a lurid purple Lamborghini Urus. It's pig ugly compared to your average Lambo

... an ever worserist one comes in the other direction.

Yesterday I had the misfortune to follow one of these at the start of my commute home from work.

A Bentley Bentayga.

At first it didn't really register with me as it's drivers ability clearly didn't match the size and width of the car - I'd imagine it already needs new brakes.

Anyhoo 10 minutes after I said my goodbyes to that, coming in the other direction was this monstrosity:-

A Rolls Royce Cullinan.

Devastatingly wrong on every level.

2 cars I had previously no idea of their existence (probably as Top Gear hasn't been good for x years), 2 cars I really wish didn't exist, with my only hope they are the 2 cars that bring an end to this craze for every car to be an SUV.

The Google leads me to believe I could buy both for roughly £500,000

Yes but what are you going to about it, with that central console?

Well, I suppose you could get her to bend over it.
