That is currently about right and therein lies the answer I’m afraid.Democratic Route (Unlikely to gain the numbers required)
Direct action is working fantastically. The problem, as I see it, is there are an ever growing number of Climate groups, their message is right, we do need to do something, and now, but how do they galvanize the masses?
Live Aid style event?
Direct Action (Doesn't seem to be working)

It's a really tough one, we should all be getting on board and understanding we have a problem that is about to become irreversible, but we all want our cars, holidays and packaging (products), it's a tough case to crack
The policy will be front and centre, but, given that the main two parties will also base their manifesto on NHS, Taxation, Defence, Infrastructure Investment, Jobs & Training and the Environment won't it be a diluted version of what we need?Direct action is working fantastically.
A handful of people are doing a few 'stunts' and getting maximum publicity across all media.
If the reports are true the next government will have their policy front and centre of their manifesto.
tricky to argue with any of thatThere simply is no way to stop man made climate change unless word leaders tackle oil and gas corporations head on. Which will never happen because oil and gas corporations are the leaders of the world.
Humans will make ourselves extinct. Probably within 100 years.
I hope the planet can revive from the human race, the biggest evolutionary misstep in the earth’s history, once we are gone.
Even if we don’t become extinct and instead find a way to inhabit a vastly different planet. What would that look like?tricky to argue with any of that
this is how we got here, douglas adams was right all alongWill the human race simply be test tubes of elite frozen spunk aboard a vast, solar sailed space yacht, floating silently through the cosmos awaiting an alien hand to guide us to shore, where we can begin our terrible reign once more?…..
Time will tell I was just taking issue with "direct action just doesn't seem to be working", when I couldn't be working any better. The policy will be front and centre, but, given that the main two parties will also base their manifesto on NHS, Taxation, Defence, Infrastructure Investment, Jobs & Training and the Environment won't it be a diluted version of what we need?
This question is intended to be thoughtful, not a rebuke or provocative...........There simply is no way to stop man made climate change unless word leaders tackle oil and gas corporations head on. Which will never happen because oil and gas corporations are the leaders of the world.

What's your opinion on having kids Clamp?Even if we don’t become extinct and instead find a way to inhabit a vastly different planet. What would that look like?
The Uber rich and powerful living in vast, hermetically sealed silo’s while we on the outside scrabble and fight for existence?
A vast, shiny Ark satellite containing the aforementioned elite, orbiting a frazzled earth where we are an enslaved race, mining the last of earths precious minerals to keep the overlords supplied with tech and glistering jewels?
Will the human race simply be test tubes of elite frozen spunk aboard a vast, solar sailed space yacht tended to by a synthetic AI nanny? Floating silently through the cosmos awaiting an alien hand to guide us to shore, where we can begin our terrible reign once more?…..
I think they are the only hope we have. What's your opinion on having kids Clamp?
It’s the big question, isn’t it. We can’t realistically reduce our fossil fuel consumption to safe levels. This question is intended to be thoughtful, not a rebuke or provocative...........
What do we want oil and gas corporations to do differently ? Surely what is needed is for humanity to reduce the amount of oil and gas they consume. Then oil and gas corporations would produce less fossil fuel. All the while that humanity has a lifestyle which needs the fossil fuel supply then it will be produced somewhere in the world. I suppose that oil and gas companies could voluntarily ( or by government mandate ) produce less fuel than needed to meet the world demand but governments would need to be steely to be prepared to deal with the issues that would cause....
Certainly not an expert on the subject by any means but ‘humans will probably make ourselves extinct within 100years’ seems incredibly far fetched to me. Can’t see it. Won’t be here to find out but I’m sure if this happens, the writing will be on the wall in 50 years so let’s revisit it then…!There simply is no way to stop man made climate change unless word leaders tackle oil and gas corporations head on. You really think the human race will be extinct in 100 years? Just cannot see that happening one bit. No facts or expertise but my senses say that is 100% not going to happen. Wish we could put a wager on it!Fair point.
Yeah, it was more a number I plucked out of the air. I think you’re right. You really think the human race will be extinct in 100 years? Just cannot see that happening one bit. No facts or expertise but my senses say that is 100% not going to happen. Wish we could put a wager on it!
There are some good things happening here. Unrealistic carbon neutral targets and electric car targets etc, but at least it’s steps in the right direction, albeit a bit later than it should have. I have no idea what the worst offenders like China etc are doing though tbh. Hopefully the same and change will start to happen a bit more quickly. There are positives despite the obvious negatives and gross oil companies etc. I try to be a bit positive.Yeah, it was more a number I plucked out of the air. I think you’re right.
In fact I think the human race will exist for a long time to come, if I think rationally.
I’m sure we will find a way to live through the coming trials. What that will look like is anybody’s guess.
