just received this email from odpm

i wrote to all the usual suspects some time ago and received
several standard replys.

last week i emailed the odpm and asked if they work to a schedule
[like everyone else has to!] and when we can expect an announcement.

i received this today......

I am not yet able to indicate when the decision on these planning
applications will be issued.

The First Secretary of State is currently seeking comments from the
relevant parties about issues arising since the close of the inquiry, in
order that he may take a more fully informed decision. Any further
representations received will then need to be circulated to the parties
before the decisions can be issued.

The First Secretary of State will, however, endeavour to issue the
decisions on the applications as soon as possible once the exchange of
representations has been completed.

This looks like a promise that whatever is received by the ODPM will be circulated to the interested parties. There's no suggestion, however, that they will be inviting any more comments.

I presume that the ODPM will read the latest comments, have a think, make a decision, prepare a statement of reasons for the decision and then issue the decision.

The way that they "issue a decision" is that they write to the applicant.

Wow!... progress!... so they are actually not gonna circulate the comments on the comments on the comments... what a farce this whole process is... taken far too long... the civil service making work for work's sake IMHO...

These people would not last a month in a commercial environment... what a complete fcuking joke...

MAKE A DECISION... AND JUST SAY "YES"...
