was Michel tonight? Absolutely bloody un-f***ing-believably good. That really was a God masterclass wasn't it. No doubting who is Brighton's Number One(c).

:drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool::drool:

Well he very lucky for the officials not to spot him outside the box and we all had a bit of a chuckle at him flapping at the ball twice and finally landing on it like a dying swan.

Good save in the second half, but it was a nice height and as usual he made it look ten times as hard as it actually was.

Hmm. Sounds like he should have seen red for the 2nd time already this season??

And while the incomplete squirrel waxes lyrically about his hero, we could have easily been down to nine men again.

Good performance second half though. Been on the Millwall forums where there are complaining about the ref and quite frankly they are spot on.

Hopefully the luck we had tonight with the decisions is a turning point.

2 bad points were that he played a big part in giving them the goal and was extremely lucky not be sent off for clearly handling outside the box but having said that he did make a couple of good saves.

You can't be sent off for catching the ball inside your area. And that is where he was I believe - and more importantly, where the referee and linesman (who were both VERY close) also believe. To say he could have been sent off is ludicrous. If Virgo had made a head-high two-footed challenge he could have been off too but, erm, he DIDN'T. And that's the point really.

All you Michel doubters who were spunking all over Smith in the summer (without ever having seen him play) have a lot of egg on your faces now!

I think you may well be the one person (Kuipers included) in the ground tonight who thinks he was not out of the area!

Actually I'll add to that before you do - the ref and lino obviously thought so as well. Although who knows what officials think these days!

Looking straight down the line of his area he was definitely outside of it and as regards the goal he made no effort to even attempt to save it so that is where he was partly to blame. He did do ok after that and did what he is paid to do stop goals, a reasonable game but not sufficient for any normaL person, other than TCB to go into raptures.

:lolol:

Did you see their goal? They whacked it down our right (where we had NO defenders), crossed it low across the box and it was smashed home from about four yards. It all happened in less than 5 seconds (from a starting position of the half-way line) and no defender got close. Please, please tell me where the goalkeeper comes into it....

This is dead right. Kuipers had no chance with the goal.
His best save was the 1 on 1 just after they scored. From a prone position he got a hell of a strong hand on the lifted shot and clawed it away. If that had gone in we would have been looking at another hiding.
I am neutral in the goalie 'contest' currently but Michel did more than enough to keep the shirt for now.
