Great performance from the lads. Why oh why cant they play like this at home. Commitment, endeavour, passion and no little skill. Sully made two great saves, one was world class. The back four with El Abd in front were solid with Elphick and Hinch both immense. Fozzie ran his socks off up front and for once even the midfield looked promising creating a link between the defence and Fozzie without always hoofing the ball upfield. There were some great exchanges and Birchall looked good. Tommy worked hard and the new guy got into some good positions without really catching the eye too much. Overall a very well deserved point. They MUST build on this in the next two home games.

Sullivan 9

Wing 7
Elphick 8
Hinch 8
Livermore 7

Birchall 7
Frazer 7
El Abd 7
Jarret 7
Cox 7

Forster 8

Loft no time to score

wonder if we would have achieved more had we had gone 4-4-2. there was a shit load of space in the second half going forward, and with a bit of pace to help out forster and get into those spaces we might have nicked a win

still, a good point, despite the fact that EVERYONE above us seemed to pick up as well

Could Adams possibly stick with players holding down the same (rightful) positions, instead of trying hard to bang square pegs into round holes?

We need to have teamwork, and build on the understandings that brings. The only way to get that, is to play lads in their best positions and have them get confident in those places - knowing who is around them, and how they will act or react.

Perhaps the 0 goals conceded can be credited to the 5man midfield, but the 0 scored could be placed as the lack of width and option up front - which Robinson might have afforded us. 'Can't have it both ways though, and a draw away at the top team (by ten points, and we've taken 4 points off them) is really very good.

Not the whole reason obviously but perhaps it's something to do with the awful fans at home, hardly any support at all. First few mistakes and people are on their backs immediately, not forgiving at all.

Good summary of a good performance Batter.

I am still travelling back (!) Kipped over at my mates in Market Bosworth, bus into Leicester this morning after a leisurely brekkie, now at East Croydon on the way back to Lewes.

There was some grudging acceptance in the home end that we had done a good job on them. I couldn't believe the grumbling right from the start when they are walking the League. I think they are still embarrassed that they are in Division 3 for the first time and can't wait for the season to finish.
Sully really came of age for me last night. His kicking was instrumental in relieving the pressure too.
Micky and the players have reponded in the last couple of games. Whether it is to Attilla's articulate rant or not there has been a renewed spirit since halftime at Cheltenham which, we can only pray, is finally the season's nadir.

er, utter bullshit, home fans have not been awful at all, in fact i think everyone's been quite reserved- all things considered.

Yeah that's definitely it. Deffo the fault of the paying punter as opposed to the bloke picking the team or the players themselves. No two ways about it.

But it's not the whole reason though, as you wisely point out. Other reasons include the wrong type of studs on the players football boots, the pitch being simply too green, and the goal nets being blue and white stripes instead of the traditional white.

Am getting tired of hearing that excuse now i'm afraid. We all appreciate that Withdean is a piss poor excuse for a home ground and understand the difficulties with generating any sort of atmosphere there but even the singing section has began to lose some of its heart recently as we have had f*** all to cheer for!

I know we are meant to get behind the team through thick and thin and I personally dont agree with booing or getting on individuals backs but there is no way they can expect us to get up and sing our hearts out with the drivel that we are having to watch at the moment.

I dont like losing (and some may say i'm supporting the wrong team if that is the case) but am happy to appreciate and cheer when as a team we go down fighting. This year I have watched our team perform without heart, without pride, and without passion. On the few occasions I have seen Micky stray from the dugout to bark out orders ive found myself hoping he may have tapped into what he had in his first tenure and actually care about the team, the fans and his own reputation but he soon retreats back to his seat to consider his next attempt at tactical nonsence. I desperately want Micky to succeed and want to see him prove all the doubters wrong but with each match that passes am seeing more negative body language and hearing more downheartened post match interviews. THIS JOB WAS NEVER GOING TO BE EASY MICKY, SUCK IT UP AND GIVE IT YOUR BEST BECAUSE I REFUSE TO BELIEVE YOU ARE CURRENTLY GIVING IT 100%!

As fans we want to be the 12th man but at this point in time my FAITH is being put to the test as I honestly think the players are feeling if we are to escape relegation it will be on away performances alone and that any extra points we get at home are a bonus. BOYS PLAY FOR YOUR HOME FANS AND WE WILL GET BEHIND YOU. WE PAY A LOT OF MONEY TO WATCH WHAT YOU ARE DELIVERING IN AN ARENA THAT BORDERS ON UNACCEPTABLE AND EVEN IF YOU GO DOWN TRYING WE WILL APPRECIATE YOUR COLLECTIVE SHOW OF EFFORT.

We should not blame the home support for our home form EfE but understand that, although it has never been great, the current lack of cheering is DUE TO our home form!

I HOPE WE HAVE TURNED THE CORNER, THAT WE CAN PULL CLEAR OF THIS RELEGATION WORRY AND SPEND THE REST OF THE SEASON BUILDING A SOLID TEAM THAT CAN PUSH UP THE TABLE NEXT YEAR (A DAY OUT AT WEMBLEY WOULD BE NICE ASWELL). TRUST ME WHEN I SAY: GIVE US SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT AND THE NOISE WILL COME. :albion2:

Just ignore the poster, she has a habit of slagging the fans off.

The fans were worse last season, and we were alot better. Adams is getting it easy considering the league possition.
