You missed out on some great fun today backing Plymouth, great day out despite the Blackburn tactical cancelation of the game due to claims of bad weather

Some of my group did go to Accrington. I fancied the Eithiad.

I spoke to a lot of Rovers fans yesterday who reckon Venkys had something to do with the cancellation. Theory is they wanted to avoid a Christmas defeat and "arranged" the outcome of the pitch inspection.

In London village.
Went to watch Accrington Stanley v Plymouth Argyle.. Terrace and no roof in this weather made me appreciate the AMEX soo much more!

Part of the reason why some of us went in the home end. :)

Respect to Stanley as well - reminded me of the upside of when we were in the lower divisions. Top people.

Did you get in? When I turned up I was told it was a sell out, pissed me off when I saw thousands of empty seats on tv. Tried to get to Accy but didn't know where they played, sat nav was no use.

The game was officially sold out with no pay on the day (according to the press and ringing the club) but me and Frau turned up, asked politely at the box office and, after initially saying nothing was for sale and us then asking about away returns, they sold us some spares they had for the Reading end. We had to get past a security line to actually get to the ticket office and we told the security guys we were Brighton without a game to go to and they were cool and let us through. When at the counter we were economical with our chat and ended up letting the staff assume we were Reading though. They did ask for ID and I said I could prove Im not from round here but not prove I was Reading. Eventually they sold me 5 Reading tickets.

The Accrington Stanley official website would have given you directions to the ground by car , train or bus.

Why were we playing prob the most Northen club in Dec?

Should we move the Newcastle game to a neutral ground in the Midlands?

Just in case?

It could have easily been the other way round. Blackburn coming to Falmer and the pitch being waterlogged.

Sorry for the fans that went, but it is just one of those things. Can't really blame the fixture list.

Whilst I also want to continue blaming Blackburn Rovers for ruining my Saturday, is it not beyond the realms of possibility that Poyet did one of his tantrums about playing on an imperfect surface?? Remember a few games we had cancelled due to icey pitches the year we won the league were ultimately down to Gus not wanting the game to go ahead. It's as likely as Blackburn being against the idea of playing. Just a thought...

This was called off before the Albion team coach had arrived according to the Blackburn lads we were talkling to at Accrington. They were there when Brighton arrived and they didnt look best pleased to be told it was off. No idea if its true but thats what they were saying!
