Many NSC'ers claim that bar a few, which i will come to in a minute, our whole squad is not currently up to the PL, standards now demand. So out of curiosity i would like to know what people think about the possible squad changes if we did unfortunately go down.

Outs:
Ryan - Actually wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt leave in January - Back home to play Aussie soccer
Llallana (on a free) - probably would join a Newcastle or Palace mid table team on a one year contract
Welbeck. (free) - back to Watford i expect assuming the get promoted. Lot depends how fit he stays rest of the season
Lamptey - clearly too good for Championship - wouldnt be surprised for him to go back to Chelsea for 40m+
White - He probably has a relegation clause in his renewed contract and i imagine would jump at the chance to rejoin Leeds
Bissouma - after flourishing for the past 12 months, whilst not completely setting the world on fire, would see him playing for the Hammers or some top 10 team (maybe not top 4)
Dunk - maybe one season too late? Still think though quote a few PL teams would snap him up, albeit at a much reduced fee.
Andone on a free or very low fee back to Galatasary - they seem (on twitter at least) to think the suns shines out his ...
Propper/Gross, both would probably be let go on a free in todays climate and likely return to their home nations.

Ins:
Our 2 Polish guys? would they have signed to play 2nd tier football when they are already in top flight at home? Cant personally see them wanting to relocate but who knows.
Duffy - 100% have him back from his loan in an instant. One final season teaming up again with Dunk (if he doesnt leave)
Step forward several of the U23s - Molumby? Gyrokes finally gets another chance?
Percy Tau? Anyone know the rules outside the PL to get him his overdue license to play in the UK?
Hmm tough one. As a team who would be one of the favorites to go back up again next season i would hope we could attract some talent - may season long loans from PL ?

As for the rest,
Webster/Burn - would probably WANT to leave but dont see us getting any offers we would accept
Connelly / Alzate / Trossard / Maupay /Connelly probably accept a drop in division on the same wages!
Izzy - 1 year contract extension - think he could do well if he regains fitness in the slower pace

Answering your question, though...

I think it is obvious that Zaha would be off if you go down.

And the goalie.

You probably couldn't afford a lot of wages so I'd predict an extensive fire sale.

Out - 15,000 ST holders.
In - more expensive away tickets

Nope!
The Amex was close to a sell-out almost every game when we were a Championship club. I'm sure we'd lose a few but 15000, I don't think you believe what you've typed. If, however, we fell down through to the lower reaches of the Championship or, heaven forbid, worse then we'd lose a lot. Anyway, speculation as it won't happen. Potter IN!!!

Looking forward to tomorrow's installment:

Just for fun: what would happen.to the OPs three kids if he was killed and his wife paralysed in a road traffic accident.

Jimmy aged 13:. probably best served by some sort of children's home. Needs other kids around him to keep his kind occupied

Lucy aged 10:. pack him her off to her Aunt Claire's. She only has one bedroom and is reasonably tolerant of blue tac on the wall as Lucy would want pics of her dead parents plastered all over the place

Cameron aged 7:. Hopefully too young to be truly affected by my death, but could move into the same adapted home as his now quadraplegic mother where he could all the washing and ironing and forgo his childhood.

Terrific entertainment.

OK, I misjudged my lampooning of his "just for fun" title, which didn't seem much fun to me or anyone else on here. But in response, the OP sent me a PM calling me a C U N T and telling me he'd reported me and that I should expect a ban before giving me a chance to apologise. So as such, I won't apologise and he can f**k off himself and take his self-righteous bollocks elsewhere.

I miss the old school NSC, when you could say WTF you liked and only a very few took offence

We don’t have anywhere near as many laughs these days with the changing world of social media. NSC is no longer the home of the laugh out loud binfest.

These days, they lock you up in jail, just for saying you’re English.

Amen to that. A new breed, spearheaded by Vage and Swansmatches IMO, epitomise. 17 years been on the NSC (but before that, I was on the seagull jottings mailing-list thingy too) and it's not, as you say, what it was because of how polarised social media has become. More I've thought about, more I think an 18th is unlikely. VAR too has sucked the fun out of football, Covid has normalised missing games. Speaking to other club STHs, we're not alone. Lots of people saying they're no longer bothered, especially when likes of Ozil, Sanchez and Bale command the salaries they do for delivering v.little. Football in 2021 has a lot of challenges, not least the disconnection and disenfranchised feelings amongst traditional, older fans especially. Which I guess I've now become! :annoyed: :flounce:
