Unfortunately once again the only player to come out of the game with any credit was Michel Kuipers.
The first goal looked a blatant pen, don't know what Harty was doing lunging in when he should have taken it first time.
Second goal was possibly offside, but that doesn't excuse three of our lads getting caught flat footed and leaving a simple tap in from the cross. Play to the whistle boys.
Third goal, their lad was unmarked from a corner and just headed goalwards. Not sure why he was unmarked, maybe we have a policy of not picking players up in the box these days.
Fourth goal, couldn't really see, looked like six of one, half a dozen of the other, their boy goes down, another pen another goal.
The missed pen was not a pen at all and the little cheat dived when he saw Michel coming.
Booing at the end. Well, usually I hate it, but this time I felt it was justified. Danny looked really pissed off by it by the way. But I felt we had a point. Two away trips in four days and two performances where a lot of the lads looked like they didn't really know what they were doing. Is this really the same side that took Rushden apart?
I sympathise with McPhee, he is doing Ok, but just doesn't have the presence we need up front. Henderdonkey had his critics, but at least he made the ball stick up front.
Leon got clobbered a few times, yet again we had a ref who thought it was ok to try to kill the lad then give pens for dying swan acts.
Also the trouble in the stand was disconcerting. Why is it when we travel in numbers the stewards just think it is a reason to get aggressive with anyone they feel like.
Positives to draw from tonight:
1) Booker probably won't get the job and can get back to doing what he does best, putting the players at ease and making them gel.
2) We are STILL top of the league.
3) We lost 4-0 at Brentford in 2001/02 and look what happened there...
