This used to be a flag of Holland but the red, blue and white became more popular. Who knows why. Who cares.

Strictly speaking Holland is a region of the country so Netherlands should be used to cover the whole country. At least that is my understanding. I also thought the socks looked odd.

And Holland is also a part of Lincolnshire and was an English county between 1889 and 1974.

And the shade of blue is certainly not light blue.

The flag is on one side of the collar which is definately a different shade to the socks
