Wherever The Mood Takes Me
You know when we played Chelsea in the Youth Cup last year wasn't it a case of contributions in the box rather than pay at the gate?

If so, does anyone know what the average contribution was?

Reason I ask is that at work today we were talking about not being able to pay at the gate at Withdean and how it must have a massive effect on the attendance. I mentioned that I thought it was a contribution thing at the Chelsea game and wondered what the financial effect would be if we used this kind of scheme for a 1st team game. I fact I was thinking more of the Barnet LDV game actually, I mean its not like its going to be full price and the attendance is going to be dire anyway so would it be worth (if the rules allowed) trying the contribution idea for a proper game?

I dont know whether it would be a good or bad idea, would you be able to trust people not to extract the urine with their contributions?

What do people think?.

It was only used because more people turned up than they expected and people missed a lot of the first half queueing to get in due to the lack of turnstile staff.

In a word, no. Most people would take the piss.
Its a non-starter anyway. One of the provisions at Withers (and when we get the stadium) is pre-purchased tickets. Pay on the gate is now officially DEAD and will probably never return.

Though at Falmer we will be able to buy tickets from places away from the ground on the day. How this will work is yet to be decided but from what I understand it will be shops and the like.

That Chelski youth thing was a pure panic measure because the 4,500 crowd was swelled by several thousand retards who somehow thought they were going to be watching John Terry and Fat Frank, and the Safety Officer was shitting himself. No other reason
