Won 5-2 in the Knock Out Cup Quarter final, Storrington reduced to 10 men when their defender handled my sons shot on the line :lolol:

Junior Trainspotter helped Withdean U-10s beat Hassocks 6-1 & 2-0. That's him on 38 goals this season!

The Championship.
I play youth football and have just finished a game and had the worst referee ever! I respect refs if they do they're jobs properly and actually know the game but he was just going with whatever the players and spectators were saying to him , it's was a total mess. Who ever employs these refs they need to think properly about who is strong enough for whatever age group !

Finally got our qtr final cup game on today - after I think was about the 5th attempt. Our boys' first game since first week in November !

Still got 10 games left!!

Our boys currently have 8 league games left and a cup semi final to play. If they make it to the cup final then that makes 10 games too.

Strongly suspect our home pitch might not even be playable for the rest of the season at this rate, as it's currently under several inches of water in places ( again) Looks like there's going to be a good few 'double headers' and switching our fixtures to 'away' games if we're to get through this season. This has to be THE worst winter for park football up and down the country for a very long while I reckon.

1066 is not wrong.
I live in the Midlands and my boy plays at u13 level?
He transferred to a different team in November ... and he's only managed to play 2 games since!
They finally played a cup game yesterday ... and my lad was cup-tied!

They've still got 13 league games to play. Some of the teams have got 15 still to play?
It's been the worst season for postponements since he started at u7 level, so it isn't just down south that's suffering?

My son played for Hove Park Colts some years ago at centre back and hardly ever got into a game the last game he played for them they won 17-0 and the back four could have been playing cards the whole game and after him complaining that he hardly ever touched the ball I convinced him to move to a team(who I won't name) who, well lets say where a bit deficient in the defence dept and he really started to enjoy his football and several of his school mate joined and the team started to improve.
just thought I'd drop that one in as in his final year with this team they actually won a cup.

and on the referee thing even 20 years ago they were hard to find and a lot of the ref's were Dads who took the job on to get the games played and bad refs are I suppose OK in these leagues as long as they are not biased
