Seen a few reference to us being linked to left backs recently, is the Perv orrf. In the summer?
The fact we’ve had to play Milner and Igor (Igor hasn’t been too bad but isn’t an over lapping full back) as left backs show the lack of depth we’ve got there. You’d hope he’s being signed as competition to Pervis.

And Colo Barco too of course…

Rumours that he’s going out on loan next season have already started. It would surprise me but it wouldn’t be the first time a player has arrived spent 6 months with the squad then gone out on loan as they aren’t quite at the level required yet.

Given he has been capped for Argentina and started in last season's Copa Libertadores (Champions League equivant) Final (and all rounds before), it seems unlikely that he's consider not ready yet.

Why? He's 19, hasn't played in Europe, doesn't speak the language yet, only actually has 25 career appearances under his belt at club level. Compared to Enciso and Buonanotte, who took 6 months to get a proper run in the team after a bedding in period.

I'm not saying he's not ready as such, just that it's a huge jump for any young player to make. That said, both RDZ and Scaloni coach have both said that he has a lot to learn before he's ready for a main role at club or international level, indicating that both deem him "not ready"... yet

Caicedo was an established member of the Ecuador squad and had also player in Copa Libertadores when he came to us.

I can see Barco going to a top-half Champioship club for development.

Barco Shirley needs to be in and around our squad with so many young, South American, Argentinian even, players if the issue is about him settling. Flair players it's easier to get them ready for a few minutes off the bench than with a more disiplined role and if we're shifting him into something specific or new then that really needs to be here as well since he strikes me as someone we have a detailed plan for. Rather than a wait and see how he goes type.
