Brighton. NOT KEMPTOWN!
Having had my appetite whetted by the official daily photo, I thought I'd whiz around to see if I could get a few shots of the extra seat action.
Not very successful, but we can see the seat rails, pre-cast concrete and steel on the lorries, ready for installation.
There is no access around the east side so could only do what I could do.
The planting around the stadium has grown very well.
I did a bit of guerilla gardening up there, probably just over two years ago now, scattering some Vipers Bugloss (blue) and Wild Carrot (White) seeds all along the bottom of the blue hoarding along Village Way.
Some fell on stony ground, but some of the Vipers Bugloss have made it. They should now seed, and provide lots more blue in the future.
Bloody windy up there today.

Haven't been up there for weeks, but I presume the poppies in the field to the south of the stadium are in full, er, Bloom at this time of year?

The images of the stadium when the poppies are out are completely iconic, IMHO. The stuff screensavers are made of.

This brings back memories. Thanks JS. And well done for your spot of gardening.

Maybe there should be an official BHAFC gardening club?

And, no, not uphill gardeners.

Ahhh, good to have you back Jack.

I've got some club shop vouchers burning a hole in my pocket right now, think I might have a mince along there at the weekend for a bit of a snifter.

Guerilla gardening, brilliant! I watched Sarah Raven's programmes about Bees, Butterflies and Blooms which showed how wild flowers seeds had been planted around the Olympic Stadium. They should all be flowering for the opening of the games. I wondered then if we could do something similar at the Amex. There are plenty of weedy places around the concourse that could do with a lift. Well done you!

As Mendoza has stated, no Poppies in usual field south of Village Way.
That field is very brown and looks from a distance that it has been ploughed up and sown for a crop.
All I noticed is that there were no Poppies unfortunately.

They don't let you walk round the east side unfortunately. I tried today but a blonde steward opened metaphorical fire.
