A shout-out for Josiah Kallicharan.

Josiah was briefly in the Albion academy (during his U-14 season of 2021-22). He attended Bede's School in Upper Dicker (the same school attended by Solly March and Harry Mills). He is now a student at Newman College (which I believe is the sixth form associated with Cardinal Newman School).

Josiah (who is now in his U-17 season, which is a 1st-year scholar in academy terms) has been called up to the Trinidad and Tobago U-17 squad competing in the CONCACAF U-17 World Cup qualification tournament that will determine the 8 CONCACAF sides that qualify for the 2025 U-17 World Cup later this year. There are 8 groups during this qualification phase so only the group winners will make it through.

Josiah came on as a sub in T&T's first group fixture but he started yesterday against the British Virgin Islands and netted twice in a 3-1 win:-

Josiah scored a hat-trick yesterday in Trinidad & Tobago's 9-0 win over Sint Maarten (taking his tally to 5 goals in the competition).

Everything comes down to the final matches on Sunday; if T&T beat Costa Rica then they will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar in November (a draw or a defeat will see them miss out).

He's at sixth form college so not technically on the books of any club as such, but I think he's with Eastbourne United.
