It is co-incidental timing with yesterday's announcement.

It is possible that Jose wouldn't publicly back it and that's the reason for the sacking rather than just football reasons?

I should add, I don't believe Jose is a Gary Neville style fighter for the fans, but he might have seen a chance to refuse to back the league knowing he'd get sacked and get his contract paid up. Probably he has something else, though not in the UK, lined up for next season.

Just my little theory

If it is true that he's kicked off about the ESL and that's why he's gone then he has gone up a bit in my estimation.

Strange timing though - 2 potential reasons why it's happened now - either the ESL fall out or as speculated before, they're trying to beat Bayern Munich to Nagelsmann.

Obviously GP's name will now come into the fray for the job next season.

I can't see it myself. They will want someone with a proven ability to manage big name players.

It increases the chance Kane and or Son will leave

Doubt they will go for GP. I would put my money on Rafa Benitez.

I think sacking Jose really increases the chances of Kane/Son staying however. If they go for someone (...not necessarily Rafa) who likes to play attacking football, perhaps they see more reason to stay.

But whatever you think about Jose, he wins trophies at every club he has managed. Spurs are desperately lacking trophies, seems a crazy move.

Before this he also always managed clubs that usually win titles with or without him.

Shouldn't we be praising him for having a backbone and standing up to the ESL idea?

If that's what has really happened.

It would indeed be nice... however, not sure about if his intentions are that honorable. Sometimes it seems he wants to get sacked from his clubs because he is a sore loser but prefer to get sacked instead of resigning since he wants to keep his payment.

i actually think Jose would resign/sacked over this, he is a man of principal on these things. A winner, its all about competition for him, so this sort of thing would hack him right off.

Well he’s not picked up a single ESL point yet so not surprising

Would love it if that was the case. I suspect this is not the reality.

The fans really don’t like Jose, dull football and they’re not like getting top 4.

Very strange timing. Would make my day if he was sacked because he gave his views on ESL

My first thoughts exactly. He might just become a fans champion.

I dont see him being sacked a week before a cup final, this is to do with the euro stuff for sure.

I would find it much more likely they've wanted to sack him a while and are using it as a distraction than they fired him because he expressed opposition to the ESL. But also suspect the availablity of other managers may be the bigger factor.
