No, double-clicking would have merely opened him - In the case of imminent death you would have definitely wanted to click "save" or at the very least "copy" and pasted him to another location. Although that brings up all kinds of philosophical questions - If he was copied and pasted to another location, would he still be the same person??

You can't copy and paste a human being. Copying and pasting is something done in word processing applications.

His inventing of the computer mouse was never really going to be a factor in whether he died or not.

maybe it was an ergonomic or Mac mouse and they couldn't work out how to right click? Sad times......
