Im begining to understand what certain players are saying about him being a class act. he only came on for a few minutes and put in an absoulte gem of a cross while under heavy pressure. He back tracked, got forward put in good balls, tackled, played the simple pass etc.. He was only on the pitch for a few minutes so Im rightly impressed.

For whatever reason he hasn't played much this (last) season, but I've a feeling he will be playing a major role in our Divison one campaign.

He looks a much better player now McGhee has got some weight off him and he looks fit.

Hope he gets another years contract and a chance to prove himself.

thought Reid did very well when he came on. He helped us keep the ball and stop BC putting us under to much pressure. Could do a good 1st Div job for us and is certainly a decent squad addition.

Hope he gets more of a run in the team. We could have a wonderful midfield next year.

Chippy, Reid, Piercy, Rodger, Hart, Jones, Oatway.....

Reid is wasted on the right and did more creative things in 30 minutes on sunday, than charlie has all year. I know that they are very different type of players but we have been crying out for vision and creativity all season.Reid must be kept , and I agree with all those above about Piercy.

i think that with a decent midfield signing with a bit of div 1 experience and maybe another option on the left alongside chippy, chas, reid, hammond, piercy, jones and hart the midfield wouldnt look to bad.
but who ever comes in really needs to have an eye for goal and be a bit of a play maker cos we haven't really had a playmaker since minton left.chippy and charlie can do the holding but we need someone a bit adventours to play alongside them

We have ample people capable of playing down the middle but only really got one natural winger in jones.

who i thought caused a lot of problems to the city in the first and a couple of great dive espically the one where leon hit the bar from the three kick

that welshie is class

We need to be sure Reid has the heart for the battle. He didn't against Swindon. Sometimes in midfield you need to dig in before you can get passing and possession going.

Which is why Charlie Oatway has done so well for us this season. I wish people would get off his back.

I dont think he will be a regular next season, but in games where we need a stopper, he will be useful, not to mention the dressing room spirit he drives.

I wasn't trying to get on Charlies back, myself and my brother sing his name louder than anyone in block C. All I am trying to say is that we need more creativity. I never said that Charlie cannot do a holding role in front of the back four, or man mark someone out of the game as he did to Paul merson last year.

Keep Charlie on,

Reidy can do a job, and so can Piercy. However, we'll definatly need a central midfield general with Div 1 experience to calm things down when the going gets tough...and it will get tough.

Gunna be a real battle next season.

I think next year Chippie and Oatway will be vying for the same place and not playing together (unless it's a backs against the wall point away from home type of performance). We'll need to play someone who can actually win us the game and not just rely on not losing. Teams that draw lots of games invariably put themselves under a lot of pressure

i can't work it out in my head.

chippy is consistently good
harty i like
piercy is apparently brilliant
reid 'looks the part'
jonesy is, obviously, great.
oatway can do a job.

yet why did we only create 4 chances in our enitire playoff campaign?

i like all the above players, but maybe we need a completely new midfield? i know we can't afford it though.

I think that Bristol should learn a very important lesson from Sunday. In the 2nd and 3rd Division a good team adapts its style of play which means Long ball Larry stuff most games. We have got a lot of talented players who shine with the ball at their feet but we changed styles as it would be more effective in a one off cup style match. Big thumbs up to Mcghee for seeing this and hopefully next season we will go back to being a top passing side.

Particularly in the home Swindon game we were just belting it out of defence. It was much harder for the midfield to get involved under such conditions. Personally I didn't think the game was as bad as most people were saying. We weathered them well in the first half and in the middle part of the second half, and I thought bossed the game for much of the second half. If our crossing had been better and big Chris had been on better form we could have made a good few more chances. However, I quite agree the midfield needs strengthening. What exactly is the current position with Jolly?
