Hat's off to the guy.

An outstanding effort :clap2:

BBC 1 9 pm last night - John Bishop's Hell.

Long endurance cycling, rowing the channel ( with 3 other's ) and 3 marathon runs in 3 days.

The effort caused a hairline fracture in his leg on the last day with over 12 miles to go. 7 hours sleep in in 3 nights.

Quite a moving documentary worth a look.

He has gone up in my estimations and I liked him anyway.

The support and concerns of his wife was very touching. All in all I very well told documentary.

Don't really like the guys as a comic to be honest, too family friendly for my liking. However I caught the last 40 mins of that programme on last night and fair play to the guy. I normally can't stand programmes like that as I find they are just legalised begging but it was an interesting watch and apart from the couple of minutes in Africa it didn't bang on about the cause and when it did it quantified it with him discussing it with one of his running partners. I even "fell" for the ulterior motive and donated a fiver at the end.

I believe the established NSC protocol for one charity do-gooder to another is to offer them to "take a bow son, take a bow".

(Unless he's taking his hat off as a pre-cursor to the bow, as a particularly low, sweeping effort will surely see aforementioned hat fall off if not previously removed.)

still pales in comparison to what Eddie Izzard did.
May not be as crazy an effort, but 'pales in comparison' is overly harsh. It was a quite tremendous effort.

Think it really unfair of you to compare, as both amazing feats, but as you have....

Bishop pushed himself far harder than Izzard did. Izzard only did 5 weeks training and ran some of his marathons in 10 hours. You can walk a (flat) marathon in 6! He did do one at 5 hours though (gentle jogging pace). And the main point of both feats- Izzard raised c£1.2M whereas Bishop raised c£3m.

I say again, both amazing feats!!
