If out people out jogging can't engage their brains then we will ALL have the right to leave our houses for any form of exercise taken away!
This afternoon went out for brisk walk as part of my exercise. As I crossed road I noted that young bloke in full Lycra gear and headphones was potentially going to be on same pavement as me. However, i noted there was a parallel piece of pavement that was the logical route he could follow and only deviate from his existing route slightly. I wrongly assumed common sense as I hear steps from behind approaching and he is about 10 feet away and was about to run past my shoulder within touching distance. He is in a world of his own showing no sign of stepping to either side. Ultimately, I quickly had to jump to one side onto the grass verge to ensure a safe distance. As he passed he did not turn round and acknowledge in any way that I had needed to take evasive action. Now I don't care if you have all the gear and are attempting your 20 mile run personal best, my exercise in whatever form it takes is as important as yours as is our safety.
