If only the club did a showreel of Veltman being a total shitehouse...

... Granted it would be twice a long.

Disappointed it doesn’t include some of his celebrations when we score - he’s brilliant. Loved his fan geeing up too…..at Watford I think.

Borderline POTS for me with Cucurella.

I'm so glad I cottoned onto his celebration 'style'.

He peaked aged 6 in the playground and thought - 'that'll do me'. :lolol:

I can remember when we signed him wondering “why.” Centre back was an area where we were perhaps strongest.

I’m very happy to say I was very wrong. Even his video clip when they run through the teams at the beginning of the match seems to show attitude. The best £900,000 the club has ever spent.

Would have thought it was the other way round, TBH. Ajax ain't in the EPL.

I was thinking maybe the system they played there left him more isolated, or called for him to take more risk. Here he always is provided with a simple option by his team mates, is covered if he moves forward, and has had quality defensive partners and Bissouma in front of him. The league may be tougher, but the way we play might still make it easier for him.

I'm sure the message we got from Ajax fans when he signed for us was, 'Good player, but always had one critical mistake per game in him' - fortunately for us, he seems to have eradicated that from his game. Seems to get better every season.
You could say that about Adam Webster as well

Barely had one all season that I can recall, let alone one per game. The only truly bad performance was when he came on as sub at home v Everton I think. Apart from that his performance levels and consistency have been absolutely outstanding. Also seems like a top bloke as well……reminds me of Uwe H.

I guess it depends on whether you believe the original source of the Ajax claim!

Yes - except that I think that Uwe H did have a mistake per game in him .......... or was that Balogun?

That doesn't make any difference to his consistancy with us, so it doesn't 'depend' on anything at all.

You bought it up.
