The Large One
Who's Next?
Adams, at present, and as per his prerogative, prefers the partnership of Elphick and Hawkins, and it's one which usually works well. Seeing as there are only two berths at centre-back, someone has to give way. For now, it's Lynch.
I really hope that that is not the actual or only reason for Joel Lynch wanting out, because that would be pathetic and unnecessary. Adams and the board have already turned down one transfer request, implying that Lynch does feature in his future plans. Lynch has still got a lot to learn about his trade.
What this also does do is, because Lynch has now repeated his request, it's going to make it even harder for Adams to pick him, thereby making him less attractive in the marketplace. In other words, who wants to pick a player that doesn't want to play for you?
I have no idea about the notion of whether he thinks he is a better player than he actually is - I've never asked him, nor looked inside his head, though some on here think he does carry this attitude with him. I really hope he doesn't. Confidence is one thing. Mis-placed arrogance is another.
