Kinky Gerbils said:Dont give a doof if they were happy to stay or not, they were sold on the cheap - esp ckr.
Silent Bob said:What about when we turned down two or three approaches from Celtic until they offered £1.5m for Virgo?
Da Man Clay said:Read Algies post again. I agree they were sold on the cheap btw.
Kinky Gerbils said:How many clubs still refuse to sell unless they are happy with the price even if the player is unhappy?
Steed from Fulham to Spurs is an example of this.
Kinky Gerbils said:Leon Knight - Troublesome and coming to the end of his contract. We have got the highest value from Leon.
Ckr - Did nothing to boost his value by much. Unhappy and didn't want to stay.
Henderson - We more than quadrupled what we paid for him and he played in a relegation season.
Just three.

I cant quote you
Knight maybe.
Ckr - most people could see he was class, when played and there was plenty of clubs sniffing around - seems like the club took first offer.

I thought it would have been the only offer (ergo deadline day signing). Wolves interest seemed to cool and I would assume he was on a fairly decent wage. It looked like he burnt his bridges with his attitude/performance vs Rotherham and decided to get rid, freeing up some wages for others. I agree that we could have got more for him, but only if he had knuckled down and played for the club. Now who's fault that is, I don't think we will ever find out the whole story. I don't think anyone was entirely blameless....Acutally, I am going to blame Leon.
Not really they sold CKR last minute on deadline day. I agree he was sold too cheaply though.Kinky Gerbils said:

Not sure the Celtic board would sanction £1.5m on a player because his manager used to play with theirs, especially in a time where they are cutting down their playing budget.Kinky Gerbils said:From Mcghee's best mate?
Im not saying Lynch is not a good player, because he is - but combine the facts that he is:
1 - Young
2 - Playing in an average league 1 side
3 - Playing at a club that has just made a loss of 2.2 million
4 - Makes basic mistakes still
Means the upfront fee will not be a million.

Icy Gull said:That's how I see it except it may just be the one player if Lynch goes for closer to 1 million than 500k. Depends how strapped we are come the season but DK WILL hold out to the last moment if we have to sell him for under 1 million imo.
Who else could we get decent money for? Hammond? I think we'd miss him more than Lynch imo.

Trouble is will he be a Rio Ferdinand or a Titus Bramble. I'm still not sure.
Kinky Gerbils said:World class or World class?
Les Biehn said:I was thinking expanding career profile, delving into the worlds of TV, music and fashion or expanding waistline with a nice side line in roasting slags.
Kinky Gerbils said:Roasting slags - a must for all Premiership football players.
Les Biehn said:These slags must get in quick though, the window of opportunity is between 16 and 19.
