I can never understand why they are paid. In any business you make a decision as regards wages that you can afford etc and if you f..k up that is your fault you wouldn't expect anybody to bail you out for making the wrong decision.

It's not any business though is it. You can have twenty brilliantly run football clubs and three will still get relegated

I'm not sure what Mason has done to have his value increase from £600k to £2.5million in a week, unless Cardiff know we're desperate and are pricing accordingly.

I suspect it was the loan fee ( 600 K ) being confused with the transfer fee ( 2.5 million ) when it was reported.

How can the loss grow that much, at this rate we will be paying a £1000 for a season ticket and a £10 for a pie and pint

Obviously I don't actually know, I just have a feeling the losses are going to be announced as much bigger this year.

i read somewhere last week his value was £600K as well, but cannot remember where. However, if a player is worth £2.5m, I would have thought that his salary expectation would fit somewhere in line with his value, unless a huge chunk of that £2.5m is a signing on fee to lessen his weekly pick up?

Naylor quoted £600,000 rated a few times:

I just wonder if Bournemouth are playing us like a piano at present. They gazump us with Grabban, after finding out the terms we are prepared to offer, then put it out in public that they're prepared to pay £2 million for Mason, creating an expectation with Cardiff that his value has increased, leaving TB further out of pocket.

As it stands at the moment we wont get a penny from any fines levied against promoted clubs breaching the FFP rules because that has not been agreed with the premier league.

Hopefully it is agreed within the next couple of years then. I assume the embargoes are set to be enforced though?

Wouldn't want to be spunking that kind of money on him, Coventry's Callum Wilson would be available for a LOT less I should imagine...

Can't say that I know a great deal about Mason but £2.5m does seem a lot of money for a Cardiff reserve, I'm half expecting us to end up signing a striker from abroad that very few of us have ever heard of.
