Some prick in D/E Block booed Joe Gatting off the pitch today. What a f***ing cretin. Okay, he didn't have a great game but take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror tonight and ask yourself if that's the right way to support a kid who is trying his best for the cause.

Wouldn't condone the booing in any shape or form - but Joe Gatting DID look some way off the level of skill required to be of much use at the current time.

I totally agree and i think Dean Wilkins does too. He played because Revell, Hart and Williams were injured. However, he did try. He did nothing to justify being booed off by his own supporters.

I'd never condone booing your own players..........unless, of course, they deserve it ala Stoke, Crewe, Chesterfield and Blackpool. Shockingly poor displays.

Actually, you've made me realise I'm a total hypocrite! I still don't think Gatts deserved it today though...

Well, clearly NSC's limitless patience is exhausted :jester:

Let's give Sam Gargan a game and then boo him off.

It's very early to say and being dropped in it this season like all the other young players is a bit 'Sink or Swim'.

In Normal circumstances Im sure he would have been sent out on loan to learn and strengthen up at a senior level at a local non league club.

He does look very one paced thow and very lost at times!

To boo him thow is just pathetic!

Gatting was so prolific in the youth team, shame he hasn't produced the same sort of form in the first team. He needs to go on loan to a Conference side, say. Maybe Crawley?

I didn't boo him, and I won't.
But Gatting is, frankly, gash. I can accept a shortage of skill IF I see the player trying to make it up in effort. Well, I'm afraid Gatts, you're not even doing that. A number of times today when the ball was played forward, he made mininal effort to get in front of the defender to receive it. He was easily marked out of the game, he wasn't making effective runs, he was incapable of holding the ball up, and his contribution to the team today was pretty much f*** all.

I don't like slating youngsters, but I'm afraid not ONCE have I seen anything from Gatting to suggest he has any future as a professional footballer.

As a rib-tickling satire of the overheated, extreme rhetoric so beloved of football fans, Easy has triumphed again :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I'm shocked at your comments Easy, Joe has the potential to be the best youth product yet, needs to find his feet but he has undoubted quality, confidence seems to be his issue. Slatings like these are harsh.

He seemed to lack effort yesterday, it's hard to forgive that from a youngster.

Im sorry but I agree with Easy 10 and others on this thread. Gatting is shit. I dont mean to be rude to the boy but he hasnt really done anything to prove otherwise. He has been given enough chances for us and he hasnt scored yet. He looks way out of his depth at this level. I think the best move for him would be to go out on loan to a local non league club.

I dont like slating our youth players, and he may come good. But I think of all the players who have come through the youth system, he hasnt lived up to the potential of others (Cox, Lynch, and to some extent Robinson).

Prove us wrong Joe.

Funny I remember similar threads about Jake over the last two years.
Give him a chance.

Gatting needs time to become the player I hope he will become, and the only way to do that is to play with, and in the first team.

Go Joe, prove the doubters wrong, and become our Chevcenko (sp).

Harsh on the lad to boo him agreed but to suggest he is the our best youth product is laughable.

He offers very little as a striker - he has little or no pace, is very poor in the air, lacks commitment and has never once looked like scoring.

To label him as the next Chris McPhee is harsh on McPhee - at least McPhee tried and looked like he might score!

Gatting only played because we had nobody else and it was too late to get another loan in and he was sustituted because the manager thought a central defender up front would offer more - says it all really!

Wilkins knows he's not good enough and I think a career at local level probably beckons for this lad.
