Not amazingly fast, but like McGrath puts it on the same spot delivery after delivery, sometimes an inswinger, sometimes an outswinger and sometimes straight on.

Once he gets going you really wouldn't want to be batting would you?

I think in the first 5 years of his career England messed with his action trying to get him to bowl “properly”. If not for that, who knows?

Or he could've burnt himself out earlier/younger and and/or got injured and packed up long ago? Impossible to say either way.

It's astonishing that not only is he better than ever, but he's also missed very few games (relatively) with injury. Would be unusual for a spinner but unbelievable for a fast bowler. Wonder how many of the the England squad he'll get to play with before he finally reties won't have actually been born when he made his debut ?? Ahmed likely to be the first perhaps.

Plaudits warranted and, to add, he seems to be getting better. I'm sure someone will post something on when he's got his wickets, the average, strike rate, runs conceded per over, etc.
Last test he got 7/54 at about 2 an over

Oh completely. As it says in that review, the fact that he's been eased out is further confirmation -- if it be needed -- of his commitment and the way in which he's looked after himself. His physique, build and stamina is staggering for a 41yo.
