Jesus had been given permission by the Brighton fans to talk to the Seagulls, but a statement on the Brighton website confirmed that he is to remain in Heaven.

"Jesus had certainly caught my eye and we had a lengthy and interesting meeting," said Brighton chairman Dick Knight

"I don't think people understand the pressures that are put on League One Brighton's managers, it's not a role for me." said Jesus.

Sad to report that JC has also also turned us down. A short announcement was made by St. Peter at The Pearly Gates some 5 minutes ago. In a short statement, he announced that although the bearded 1 did have a great track record of performing miracles "he's got his f***ing limits"!

Lucky escape! A carpenter who got himself nailed to some planks could only be considered a liability anyway.
