British parliamentary democracy is more complicated than you suggest. At the 1931 election the Tories won 470 of the 611 seats available, but the next Prime Minister was National Labour's Ramsay McDonald. Ready to f--k the country up, kill business, taxes and interest rates to soar, borrowings to soar, dinosaur union leaders to be brought back to life, shambolic renationalisations etc.etc.
Where the hell will the money come from for all the promises 'the deluded' believe their saviour will deliver? Even Corbyn and McDonnell may struggle to raise all the dosh they require.
Heaven help anyone with stockmarket investments and I am sure pension funds will be delighted to hear that McDonnell wants to renationalise various industries without adequate compensation for shareholders.
Heaven help all of us if these fantasy figures gain power, and I haven't even started on their terrorist sympathies and apparent antipathy towards the country's defences.

Corbyn's lack of spine to convincingly support Remain and instead just lamely say he wanted to remain won't be forgotten by Remoaners like myself.
Also when things start getting cranked up towards an election his pacifism will also weaken his appeal.
A more moderate Labour offering would look quite attractive to me, but I'm not convinced by JC.
If there was an election tomorrow I either wouldn't vote or vote Liberal Democrats as a protest against the Tories.

Ooh, another politics thread where everybody is sarcastically snide about the other lot. How many posts on are actually positive about the side they support, as opposed to slagging off the other lot?
Anyway, I can't help you here. I am concerned about Corbyn and his party at the moment. Obviously we will need them to form a government, as we can't possibly continue with the current lot, but it doesn't fill me with great confidence.

I agree with you, but on reflection I think that may say more about our choice of governments than us lot on this occasion. Those who voted Conservative probably did so because the alternative was unthinkable, rather than belief in our current government, and likewise most who voted Labour did so because they don't like what the government have done, rather than any honest belief that Corbyn and team are fit to govern.
