I was very impressed with the performsance of Jay Harris the Wrexham no 6 who was a Gary Dicker type midfileder who can tackle and also get forward.
Does anybody agree it would be worth keeping tabs on him as he is only 24 or is he too old to make the step up. Previously played for Accrington Stanley and Chester according to Wrexham web site and joined them last year after a year out of football.

I thought their number 10 was pretty good. Speight I think? Might be worth looking at as a back up if we do lose Noone.

For once, I agree with BG. I thought the 6 (and the 10) were very good.

Huge step up though.

Agree with BG, thought Harris had a great game in midfield - as did the reformed wife-beater Speight (10). I think Speight did Calderon about five times in the opening half-hour. If Inigo isn't good enough to cope with non-league players, he certainly isn't good enough for the Championship.

We played Barnet in a cup game some years ago and finished up buying their left back Graham Pearce, I think it was.

My only reservatipon about the No 10 was his midfriff bulge, he appearred to be overweight and a biut round, but that could be overcome I suppose with training etc.

Sorry my mistake I mixed up no 10 with no 18 Tolley who was a bit roumd. Speight has been around non league a bit and had a loan at Port Vale so perhaps he has shown not to be good enough.

If I'm honest, I don't think any of those would cut it at your level. As good as some of them are, I think our success in the pub league is due to the way the team is put together. They're a bit of a motley crew, as are most teams at our level...

Jay Harris: little terrier, gives you 90 minutes graft every game... apart from when he's suspended. Treads the fine line between "tough tackling" and "dirty bastard". Can be a hot head. We took a chance on him after his, ahem, "year off", and it's worked out well. Could play at League One level, easy.

Jake Speight: On his day, brilliant. Lightning fast, knows where the goal is, and another grafter. In form at the moment. Too many games though where I've not realised he's playing until half an hour in. League One again, if he was more consistent.

Jamie Tolley: You never really see what he does, unless you watch him closely. We miss him when he doesn't play though. Good link up player. Hell of a shot on him too. Could still cut it in League Two.

Adrian Cheesy Cieślewicz: Bit of a rough diamond. Bags of pace, dribbling ability, but seemed to have concentration issues, and no end product until recently. Basics are definitely there, but needs polish (no pun intended). Who knows?
