Reports in Ireland today that Jason Byrne the Shelbourne striker who was linked with a possible move to the Albion last month is close to sealing a 400,000 Euro (£280,000) move away from Shelbourne. Could it be to us? I think the size of the fee will make that unlikely!

Where would we get £280k from, without selling someone?

Mind you we should try and get the Argie's agent to broker the deal!

He would get us the player, the squad, the club and staudium and they would have to pay us a tidy fee!

mcghee has said that he's got money available, it's more a matter of trying to persuade players to play at withdean.

I'd kill to have Tolka over the Withdean, if it could be moved to Brighton. Its small enough, but still bigger than Withdean, and the seats are actualyl close to the damn pitch. And yes, it has an onsite pub.

although i know about as much about irish football as i do about lift maintenance, i cannot ebelieve mcghee would seriously gamble that much money on a player who is untested in english leagues - especially after the turienzo debacle

Look, he's got to gamble our money on SOMETHING.

What would you suggest?

He can't just sit there doing nothing.

If he can't get "tested" with the amount of cash we got, we have to go with "untested".

We should terminate Chaigneau's contract to save paying his wages and flog El Turi to MK Dons if he ain't gonna be used.

At least loan out El Turi.

I think Scotty wants us to spend our few grand on signing Wayne Rooney. Don't know why MM hasn't thought of it. I reckon he'll do well that lad.

It's in the News Of The World today that we will swoop for him and his manager does not want to sell him to a club with more strikers than sense!

Ok, I made up the last bit!
