I think they might help themselves a bit there,... Villarreal??... a bit meh... non descript Spanish team,... done that before... a bit more imagination required now that we have already hosted Roma, Marseille, AEK and Ajax.
and in competitive matches.....

I see the Villareal friendly as a chance to take the grandson and nothing more...

Nahhh, it's ordinary..... there are plenty of alternatives other than a standard Spanish outfit that we have played before.
Just had a reply from a Villarreal fan - he reckoned it’s a bit meh . . . a non descript English team, done that before.

Come on then, who would fit the bill? Real Madrid? Barcelona? Perhaps Bayern Munich or PSG? Let’s stay humble shall we. It’s a pre-season friendly to gauge the performance of our players in relation to team selection for the upcoming season. The game will be forgotten as soon we play our first PL fixture.

I got lost in roppongi looking for my hotel, I must have passed the same pimp at least 3 times, he thought I was shopping around for some action :D

The picture is eerily like what I vaguely recall from Starbucks in Roppongi……..similar round table, a few of us around it, but with some key differences.

-it was about 5am
-one of our team was in the Gilmour position but his head was actually on the table rather than above it, and he was fast asleep
-one coffee had been spilled. He was asleep in a pool of coffee
-one other was also asleep slumped precariously on a stool

Me and my boss at the time decided to leave them and go back to the hotel. We met for an emergency Maccy Ds a few hours later, turns out they also got a cab back eventually but fell asleep in that as well, and ended up paying something like £200 as the driver couldn’t wake them up so just drove around for a bit

Do we have any confirmation of coverage on Prime? (Or elsewhere) I’d like to watch the match if possible.

Half expect to receive a push notification from the club app half an hour before KO telling me the game is being streamed there.

I do wish that as a club we were less shit at announcing coverage in advance. It’s the same with watching the youth players, I’d often find out halfway through a match that we were playing and it was being streamed on YouTube.

Don't know about the game coverage, but I have been watching the coverage of the team in Japan and can't stop thinking about how much that must all cost and how far we have come since near obliteration.
I'd assume some of the cost will be given by American Express as they are massive there and our tour will be good for them.

Sorted ! You will need to subscribe to Amazon Prime Video then use a Japan VPN

Nord works perfectly it now shows Brighton tour of Japan coming soon!
The problem is that the commentary will most likely be in Japanese, but beggars can't be choosers.
Still pretty certain that there will be a club stream though.

No Dunk? Is he suffering from splinters in his arse having spent the entire Euros campaign sat on the bench? And yet WBG is going and he actually played in the Euros!

I'm sure that playing these friendlies over the other side of the world for no reason other than £££ (I don't have a yen key!) won't lead to bleating and whinging that "the players are tired - they play too many games" come the end of the season.

Slightly OT but are there kangaroos (or some equivalent) in Arizona and do they come out at night, like deer?
Isn't the discussion of nocturnal kangaroos in breach of the terms and conditions of your return to this board? If you wish to raise the topic of kangaroos try and include at least one footballing reference in order that you adhere to those conditions and don't upset anyone unduly. Something along these lines perhaps....

The whole thing was based on a picture in my head of @AZ Gull sitting on his porch at night watching football, with desert and kangaroos in the background... in other words a vision of football.
And not really talking about kangaroos either.. I know they're only around in Australia. But I was thinking "what he ostrich is to the emu". However, seems they've only got the dingos. Need to revise my football vision.

A "vision" of football in your head just won't cut it, I'm afraid. Do you honestly expect the great and the good of NSC to guess what's going on in your head?

Every post you make, if not already football related, has to include at least one veiled reference to football, no matter how tenuous. I'm sorry but I didn't make the rules. I'm just here to ensure that everyone abides by them.
