I worry that being deep in a relegation battle once again limit our options for signing the sort of player we need. I believe we need major surgery. Perfect window for me would be a complete overhaul in attacking areas. Not going to happen though. And if Bissouma goes we may as well give up now.

In:
Tau
Striker (Dia or similar)
Pacy wide attacker (James or similar)
Moder
LWB

Out:
Ali J
Propper
Bernardo
Connolly (loan)
Zeqiri (loan)
Izquierdo (sadly released to free up wages if not going to come back this season)

These aren't the players you're looking for.

I literally couldn’t disagree with this more. Our lack of pace (Lamptey apart) one of our biggest issues. Connolly has pace but not good enough. Welbeck no slouch and then that’s it. We’re so ponderous and when we break always allow the defence to regroup. March, Trossard, Maupay, Lallana, Gross, Mac Allister, Alzate, Ali J. None of the rest of our attacking options have pace, and that’s a big part of the problem. Potter has also already disproved your point by playing James as part of his Swansea side who played the same style.

Dan James has scored 4 goals in 30 starts playing for Man Utd. Yes he's quick but what we need is someone with the quality to finish off the chances we are already creating, not another Aaron Connolly.

I'd prefer taking a punt on a natural goal scorer like Daniel Sturridge, but 3 sicknotes in the squad is probably too much of a risk.

Left Back : The young lad from Man United (Wlliams?).. on loan.. would enable us to play 4 at the back more easily..
Strikers : Origi was one for me in the summer but I also not averse to Andone.. this lengthy injury may have given him time to reassess his situation, career etc..

That's a lot for the summer window let alone January.

I would be surprised if there are more than 2 in and 2 out.

That looks right - and I too have a dread that Bissouma is going.

Hard to argue with any of that. As for a LWB, could we recall that other polish lad? ??? We only need back up after all seeing as March is having a decent season in the position.

For me... Bring in Tau & Moder from their loans. Hopefully have Izquierdo & Andone back to fitness. Buy a left back. Loan out Connolly & Zeqiri. If Izquierdo or Andone weren’t ready by end of Jan then more business would be needed.

I'd like to see 2 of the following:

Lingard
Deeney
Oxlaide-Chamberlain (loan)
Dan James (Loan)

Ditch Connelly and bench Maupay. I know people will we need permanent signings, but those players are the sort we'll see sign for West Ham, Palace or Newcastle and then go on to bang some goals in. We also need a leader and some physicality on the pitch - Deeney epitomises that.

Paul Onuachu - Genk (Trossard's old club and a genuine conveyor belt of a club of talent over the years)

2 metre Nigerian giant - might of been the difference against Sheffield Utd with all those crosses coming in. 14 goals in 16 this season also.

A player i'd seriously go for, and it might be a curveball, is Harry Winks. His style would absolutely suit us down to a tee. And he will be desperate to play with the Euros (supposedly) coming up.
Yes, you'd imagine 'bigger' teams might be in for him, I heard Everton were linked. But, is he going to play there much? Probably not. Offer him a loan, guarantee him a start in CM alongside Biss. Win/win if you ask me. Won't even have to move.

'The Siege Tower'
Or at Gent, Roman Yaremchuk.
Been mentioned before. Linked even. 9 in 13 in league. 6ft 3, great feet. Ukranian, scored against Germany last month.

Really like that guy a lot.

He was injured over the last window (a bad one) so I didn’t even consider him, really pleased that he has come back so strong. Hopefully on our radar - brilliant in the air.

Yeah I think he had an op and that and covid wrote him off from this time last year to the begining of the season, but he seems to be back with no problems. Roma and Galatasaray are after him supposedly. We could compete with both with the right offer/sales technique. Scored a worldie in the Uefa a few weeks ago.
Playing consistently for Ukraine now. He'd be a hero, i'm certain of it.
We can dream.
