With this extension it pretty much guarantees the club didn't waste the whooping £2,000,000 it spent on him.

Sensible by him on a personal level initially to understand his involvement

Sensible by the club to reward him after the season he’s had so far

Magnificent tonight.

I really don’t think it’s a coincidence that his best performances for us have come when Dunk is not there. He becomes the leader and leads by example.

Our first clean sheet of the season, with no Dunk in the team and largely thanks to JPVH. His improvement this season has been incredible, if he carries on this rate of progress, he’ll be ahead of Dunk before long.

Don't agree. I think he's been terrific with Dunk as well

Agree, but also think West Ham being so poor also helped.

He really stood out tonight. Won every duel, got his head to everything and used the ball so well. His touch and composure on the ball is a joy to watch. This lad is getting better and better, he was clear MOTM for me, didn't put a foot wrong.

Rapidly becoming one of my favourite players.

Hard to believe that this is the kid that our players were noticably not passing to away to Leicester, less than a year ago. Unreal improvement.

With him, Dunk and Igor as our CB’s, there’s no way we should go as long without a clean sheet again!

Let’s not go overboard. He’s been good but Dunk he ain’t.
Fair's fair, he's nine years younger than Dunky. When he was JPvH's current age, Lewis wasn't first choice for us in the Championship and we had just failed in a bid to sign Virgil van Dijk from Gronnigen. It won't be too long now until JP's partnering VvD in the Dutch national side.
