Just been released by Derby. Definitely should be trying to bring him in imo, he's been quality when I've seen him. Also, who else is now on a free who would be worth bringing in?

We should be aiming for top 6.

If he's not good enough for a side that finished 8th, I don't see why he's good enough for us. We've had two short strikers running around the wings like headless chickens this season, no thanks to a third.

I'm not disagreeing with you in this instance, but generally that is an incredibly narrow minded attitude towards player recruitment. Ian Wright "wasn't good enough" for us once upon a time too remember.

Being short doesn't make him a headless chicken. He scored 1 in 4.

Slightly different though, isn't it? We had Ian Wright on trial for a short time. Jamie Ward has been at Derby for years, and was only a regular starter when they were a lower half team, under Nigel Clough. Either way, if we want top 6, he's not good enough.

As did Mackail-Smith.

He's got into double figures ONCE in the Championship, as highlighted above. He usually gets 6/7 goals. He's no better than CMS (and no, i'm not saying we should have kept him).

That seems odd, seeing as Derby announced he had signed a two-year deal only last summer.

And we apparently WERE after him, as Bozza reported at the time - No Ward double for the Albion

Plays wide left and is a feisty little battler, with something of a mean streak. He would improve on what we have.

Playing devils advocate here - Jamie Ward or Jake Forster Caskey ?

The Derby Telegraph is saying he is due to leave a year after signing until June 2016 but also says Derby will officially announce their retained list later this week.

We tried to get him last Summer. Different manager and recruitment team then, although it's worth remembering that Paul Winstanley joined us from Derby.
