I think Beattie will be down in League One before much longer, as his career has gone downhill. But still can't see him as a summer signing for us.

Played for the Stains against us once, didn't he. In that League Cup game on 9/11. Received the ball, back to goal, flicked it over his shoulder, and whacked it into the top corner. Michel hardly moved. I had heard though that the rumour was he was signing for West Bromwich Albion. I think that's where the Albion name got mentioned.
I though Anders Svensson scored both goals that day.

despite all the flak some people get for starting these threads I always open them.
Why?
Becuase for the last 20 years of my Albion supporting life I have been wondering whether we will sign that chap from Worthing and his mate Bernard who I met in the officers mess a fews years ago.
Even if it is all a load of rubbish - it makes me feel that we are a bigger club - Are we signing Beattie?
C\ourse we're f***ing not but it better to drop that into conversation at work rather than we've signed that lad from Tonbridge Angels who's a bit quick.
