Would he not be better to come on as a striker sub than we have at the moment if his wages were acceptable?

I can't decide who I would rather have on the bench him or Paynter.

I have said it before and i will keep saying it. Do NOT sign players on their way down. Simple.

What is Vincente not an up and coming prospect

and there times when experience is needed as we have proved in the past with Denis Mortimer and Frank Worthington. Would you have said the same if it had been Robbie Keane.

A mate of mine rated Beattie so highly at Saints he was very upset when Rooney turned up on the scene to 'steal' his place in the England set-up!

But now he's past it, will end up going to Charlton or somewhere like that.

one of the very best bits of business I can remember was Pompey taking old and past it Paul Merson, who got a new lease of life and was phenomenal for them.

As already mentioned he has recently done nothing except eat all the pies in Stoke, Blackpool and Glasgow (or maybe that was deep fried mars bars) - no thanks !

With respect to Rangers, if he is not good enough for them, he certainly isn't good enough for us!

There are the odd exceptions but they are few and far between. Robbie Keane? No way would i want him. You can get someone young, up and coming for a smaller fee and lower wages.

He was good when he was at Southampton, but his career didn't kick on when he left there - generally on a downward spiral, I would say. No thanks, not now.
