Let's not get in a slagging match regarding Sats performance, it was okay, we got a draw, away, at another promotion contender.

Jakes performance in that game is not in question, nor is any other single performance, it's overall that we need to see improvement, and when he gets the chance I hope he does us proud and scores the goals that many seem to be convinced he has in him.

And I agree regarding the England captain, he went to Preston I believe, and was held in very high esteem by them after his time there.

Jake did not have a good game on Saturday. The Vale central defender was at least twice the size of him and on more than one occasion he was watching the defender rather than going all out for the ball. He also misplaced a couple of relatively simple passes. If it had been Jones making those passes the fans would have been spitting feathers.

There is no doubt though that he is one for the future but exactly that at the moment, the future. From what I've seen he is someone we should be bringing on gently not relying on yet.

Jake is being handled very well in general by MM, IMHO... certainly should NOT go out on loan,,,

However, Chris McPhee should have STARTED on Saturday, and John Piercy, rather than Jake, should have come on if necessary in a game like Port Vale... big mistake by MM in that game methinks...
