Jake Robinson Update

Just back from the pub, speaking to a couple of Aldershot players.

They say that Jake is happy at Aldershot although has lost a bit of confidence as he hasn't scored for a while. I then asked one of the players what Jake's situation is and his response was that "Russ (Russell Slade) wants to give everyone a chance to earn a deal in the summer", although Aldershot are keen to sign him up on a permament deal if he fails to get a new contract at the Albion.

Also mentioned was the signing of Jonny Dixon which they found astonishing as they said he barely made it in to their squad.

You may ask why were a couple of Aldershot players in the pub, well one of them is injured (did his hamstring in training this morning and out for the rest of the season) and the other snuck out.

That unfortunately sums up Jake. He has the talent, but you have to wait until he feels confident enough to use it. Unfortunately it doesn't happen often enough, as Aldershot now seem o be finding out. How long before he finds himself on the bench I wonder.

A fair comment - so much talent but we've only ever seen it in patches.

I'd like to see Jakey back, as I never wanted him to go. We've signed some absolute dross this season who have looked inept and couldn't care less, while completely ignoring homegrown talent who care about the club.

All just opinion of course, but for my money we've taken the wrong turn this season by casting our own youth products to one side in favour of others teams junk.

The one we were mainly speaking to was; when Slade was at Yeovil this player was at Bristol Rovers. He actually had a trial at Yeovil in the summer.

And I guess they probably just ask Jake about his situation at the Albion.
