should have gone ages ago, he'll never make a professional footballer

Stupid comment. Robinson will have a long career as a pro footballer [he's already clocked up about 5 years]. What level he plays most of it at, remains to be seen, but best of luck to the guy wherever he ends up.

If NSC had existed at the time, the same people would have been calling for Ian Muir to be released, 'never going to make it', 'waste of wages' ,etc, etc.

give him some matches and hopefully he will come back a better player. only thing is i am worried he will just get bashed off the ball in that league.

In that case hadn't we better loan him out to some club in the Hampshire
U14s league?

Idiot on the phone in was singing his praises because he is one of the best in training. Well, I don't pay to watch the team train, so he has to reproduce that on matchdays and he has consistently failed to do that. Good luck to him but don't expect he will come back and get in the team.

Good Luck to the boy, What's he done to be treated to the Insults on here?
He has done nothing - which is exactly the problem.

If he had done something, like lived up to his potential, then he wouldn't be going to Aldershot!

Hopefully he will come back a stronger and more determined player and show some consistency. It has been his lack of consistency that has been the problem with him in my view.

Sorry but he had potential but my god as fans we didn't half big him up! The next Zamora was not easy for a 16 year old to live up.

Whatever he did for the Albion would have been wrong as we all expectred so much from him and we hadn't really seen him play.

magoo knew that he wasn't ready but i seem to recall fans slagging him off by the side of the pitch for not playing him.

Good luck to the kid in the future, he needs a fresh start

Jake certainly needs a new club as it's not working for him here. I have my doubts as to whether he is good enough to be a consistant League One player, but in any case I think it's best he moved on.

Hope so too but when he went there before on loan, he did really well at conference level, banged in a few goals but then struggled when returning with us 2 divisions higher, which tends to point to an obvious conclusion!

Here's to you Jakey Robinson, Brighton loves you more than you will know, oh oh oh

Looking forward to seeing you fighting for a place be it in from within the current Albion side, be it in the reserves, out on loan or being resigned. Lots of potential I hope you get the chance to show it what ever choice you get. What a great product of our youth acadamy and set up, I hope we keep showing our proffestional local youth players the support and dedication they deserve.

Jake Robinson's card was marked on here the minute "Desert Orchid" started PMing posters to ask everyone to start threads asking for the manager to give him a chance. Now that was a GAY thing to do. :nono: And we've had far worse players than him up front in recent years who haven't been slaughtered on here in quite the same way - Scott Ramsay, Chris McPhee etc.

But the fact is that Robinson has only been used in fits and starts, but what opportunities he has been given he hasn't really made the most of. Good luck JR, just not against us.

5 years of sitting on the bench! yes he had a purple patch for us when he scored 6 in 2 games, but f*** all since then.

I've got nothing against the bloke, but he is not good enough for league football yet, perhaps in time he'll prove me wrong- but I doubt it.

If ever there was a player whose ability and skill was never matched by physicality and football brain it is Jake Robinson. Can run with the ball at speed, can take people on, can pass and can hit a great finish. Unfortunately never managed to deal with the physical side of the game, a total unwillingness to use his left and ran around like a headless chicken. if he had learned to be stronger and play off the shoulder of defenders I have no doubt he would be plying his trade in the Championship or higher.

Yes, I will admit that jake isn't one of the better players in the team, but he is A LOT better than some of the rubbish we have at the moment. How on earth that Fraser and Loft continually get in the squad above Jake is strange. Yes he pulls out of 50-50's, isn't consistent and doesn't always produce, but he runs at defences and you just get the feeling that something may happen. It might not be often, but the feeling is still there. Compare that to what i feel when Fraser is on the ball, (usually how is he gonna lose the ball now) and I know what i'd rather have. Better to see if he can produce form out on loan, than to get rid completely. You may all think differently, but we are all entitled to our opinion, just a shame Micky's is all ready made up.

Fraser and Loft play in midfield, Jake is a forward.

I totally agree. A great shame in my opinion.

Couldn't we just send him on a season long loan to a gym, armed with some protein shakes? :dunce:

Jake really divides opinion in a way thast not many players do. My contribution for what it's worth is that he hasn't matured in lots of ways. He still reminds me people you saw in a school's team in that he desn't often pass and mostly shoots on sight. Is he a striker-or winger-or attacking midfielder? Ultimately he doesn't quite cut it in any of thse positions.

The venom often directed at him personally is misplaced though and good luck to him in his career.

Bit harsh to compare the two. Muir was only on our books for one year having signed from Birmingham. He only had 4 appearances at a time I think we were pushing for promotion back to Div 1 (The premiership for those kids reading). Not sure if he ever scored a goal against us after leaving.

Jake on the other hand has had numerous chances to impress and has failed. He needs a reality check and a move may do him good although I can't see him being a success in our league.
