Polegate
Isn't he playing for some sort of England junior side this week, or did I imagine that?

If Forster moves the likelihood is Caskey moves, unless Forster is within reasonable distance of Brighton. It would be another down side to Forster leaving.

Umm no, this was mentioned before but Caskey is contracted to us so he can't just pick up and leave when he wants..

Umm, no to you to. he is not contracted to us on professional terms. He has a youth team contract. He could qit football and concentrate on school tomorrow if he wanted to. When he reaches 17/18 in his final year of the youth system they will then offer him a professional deal which ties him to the club, that is if he is good enough.

He's 15. If Forster moves to a club up north what's he going to do? Buy himself a nice little apartment on Brighton seafront?

Really? I sincerely doubt its as simple as that, especially if he quit us and then signed for another club..also, if what you say is true, why don't these foreign wonderkids that English clubs sign just quit their current club and avoid debacles such as the kakuta thingy?

Not saying your wrong but I really can't see how that would work.

They are on a contract of sort, however clubs can approach him and pay a sum for him, yet only he can leave of his own accord. It is not a professional contract, hence the reason he hasn't been on the bench this season or played in the reserves.

One thing I am not sure on is that when we can offer him a professional deal, other clubs can to. If that is the case I am not sure whether we would be compensated.

It depends if Caskey has already signed a pre-contract agreement, in terms of a Scholarship and/or Pro Deal too.

I would suspect that this has been offered to him some time ago, but maybe hasn't signed it or considered it yet as he may be seeing if a Premier League club might want him.

I think that if he has signed a pre agreement then he has a greater obligation to the club and the club have a bigger say on if and when he leaves, however if he hasn't signed any kinda contract then he is able to move to another club under the terms of the normal registration rules that apply to every player at the Centre of Excellence, from Underr 9's upwards, although I think at Under 16's level there is a window when any player can go to another club.

Compensation would still need to be agreed for another club to sign him in either case, but I am sure that only Caskey having signed a contract of Scholarship/pro deal could keep him at Brighton if he wished to move.
