Jack Straw's SEEDA Road Works Watch 22/3/10.

Had a day off of work today to wait in for the gas man.
As he wasn't due until at least 12.00pm, there was only one thing to do.
Get some road works photos and get home by dinner time.
Here they are, 3 lots of 5.
In one, you can see my JCB!
Also, a couple from the Uni entrance.

I'm sure Everest will post the link shortly.
The plans are a bit difficult to comprehend, but the photos show the supports to the forthcoming fly-over, which will take traffic from the stadium on the A270 (Lewes Road), and to reduce traffic at Falmer and the A27 leaving after events.
The road being widened is the current road in to Stanmer Park.
This road will join up with the new road just past the white lodges at the entrance of the park, and take traffic to the car car parks in the university grounds.
When it's completed, you will be able to turn right out of Stanmer Park, saving all that unnecessary journey you have to take now, going the wrong way and doubling back on yourself in order to get to Brighton.
It is all being funded by SEEDA, South East England Developement Agency, which is very nice of them.

To me its seems that the roadworks have been as they are now for ages. Progress compared to the Stadium seems very slow.

Love the one with the road sign pointing at the stadium. From that angle, it almost looks as though it's completed and we're ready to play our first game there.

That's what we're really waiting for

It's The Blue & White Road to Falmer I'm looking forwards to.
At the moment, it's a rather nice lilac colour.
It should go white in the next couple of weeks, then the grand finale.
