Tbh he has looked better in his roles at full back than he did in the game he played at midfield. I wonder if he might be fully converted into a full back? because he has everything you want in a full back in the modern game.

But - he’d earned that start vs Villa and was a bit overwhelmed. Understandable. I think we see a very different Jack Hinshelwood in the centre next time he plays there. He has convinced himself (and us) that he is a proper Premier League player now.

Oh yeah, and I don’t mean to judge him on one match in the midfield. Only that so far he’s looked so much more at home as a full back so far and that we might find it’s his best position after all.

I just love watching him. Some young players you watch, you just know they have ‘it’ and he definitely has. I’m not trying to put too much pressure on him but he really reminds me of a young Steven Gerrard.

I'm going to continue my echo my thoughts on Hinshelwood - incredible talent. He's very, very special and improves with every game. It shows the real value of giving a player regular minutes so they can grow into the team - we could have lost out on him through not playing him enough to develop but circumstances have given him his chance and he's grabbed it with both hands.

We need to make sure his contract situation is rock solid.

Great to see a lad like this seize his opportunity and make himself a deserving regular member of the matchday squad. When his form dips - as it's bound to occasionally - he might even have done enough to avoid the usual pile-on from the moaners who can't cut youngsters any slack. Unlikely but I live in hope.

But Dahoud and Moder still have a bit to do. Lallana and Milner might retire and Baleba needs a lot of game time but can we afford to give him it?

Whatever your expectations of Moder are, they are way too high.
He's not ever close to being discussed on any level above:-

- It's great to see him back.
- Isn't he tall.
&
- I'd rail him big time.

Wait till Easter, at least, before finding a pigeon hole.

I said this in another thread. He could develop into the long-term replacement for Gross. Has the energy, passing, and can find space in and around the box. He just needs to learn the Gross turn and lose a yard or two of pace.

Strangely... I think Gross has sped up this season, he frequently ran into spaces quickly yesterday. Am I right, or is it because Lallana and Milner are frequently on the pitch at the same time

Milner won't retire at the end of this season. He was still the best distance runner at Liverpool in his last season there and I'll bet him and Gross can still outrun the rest. Two more seasons and he should clock up 700 EPL appearances.

He's 20 appearances short of Gareth Barry's all time record, and we only have 18 matches left this season. he won't be retiring in the summer!
