To be filed under gossip at the moment.......

Despite Oostende's determination to keep Hendry in Belgium, 90min understands that fellow English sides Wolves, Brighton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth are all monitoring his progress, while Werder Bremen, Freiburg, AZ Alkmaar, Brondby and Genk are all interested as well.

Just the position we need more cover - centre-back, gone on loan as obviously not good enough for Celtic first team (he’s 25)

My memories of him playing for Celtic were that he was nothing special, but players can change and improve. Don't forget Duffy wasn't particularly highly-rated before we signed him, and hasn't done well since leaving.

I think we have to be mentioned in every CB discussion because of how we operate. It's probably also the agent trying to drive up the interest. All we're good at spotting is a CB so if we're linked, he must be ok. A bit like Pulis in his prime, sniffing out a quality CB and if he didn't want you then you must either be rubbish, or decent on the ball.

Being reported again:

https://www.football365.com/news/br...mier-league-clubs-chasing-celtics-jack-hendry

Brighton and Burnley are monitoring the progress of Celtic defender Jack Hendry, according to reports.

The 6ft 4in centre-back is enjoying a great loan spell with Belgian outfit Oostende this term.

Numerous impressive performances have increased his transfer value and alerted scouts in England.

According to the Daily Mail, Brighton and Burnley are leading the race for Hendry’s signature.

They’re joined by Premier League strugglers Sheffield United.

The report states that Hendry is benefitting from regular first team football in Belgium this season.

He is developing into a potential star with great ball-playing abilities. The Scotsman is also a real threat from set pieces.

He would be good if we get to the end of the season, and need snookers!

Is he left footed / play on the left of a three?

According to this: https://www.footballcritic.com/kv-oostende/formations/3073

He's Right footed and has been playing in the middle of a three

Cheers. Not ideal for us then. I'm quite comfortable with the idea of a big money CB sale and replacing with cheaper (and a striker) - but if we do we need to address the balance of right and left at the back. They're all right footed apart from Burn at the moment.
I think Clarke is left footed too, but no idea whether the club considers him good enough to step up into our first team.
