Albion have handed former West Brom winger Jack Compton a short-term deal after the 19-year-old impressed during an extended trial.

Compton, who has been handed a two-month deal, was brought in on the recommendation of chief scout Barry Lloyd and played in three pre-season matches and has since featured in reserve team friendlies.

Micky Adams explained, "Jack deserves an extended stay, and this gives him the chance to prove he is worth a longer contract."
