Fair play to him going to Afganistan, but that's just my point in many respects. It was HIM who went there; him who did the 'famous face' biz in the Olympic bid; him handing that bloody great book over the other day & going on about "passion". I just wish I didn't see his mush on everything & anything to do with football/sport concerning this country. (Over) Familiarity & all that.

He does get a lot of exposure but at least all the things you mention are positive. Better than some of his team-mates who get it for smacking people in bars, missing drug tests, flogging tours round Wembley etc, etc.

Fair comment, but at least we can understand where we're both coming from. It'd be duller than Dullsville if we all thought & felt the same.

None of your buisness
I think everyones forgetting he went off and shagged a hooker whilst married with kids.
Is this a Legend? I think not, infact he comes across as a greedy, self-obsessed, over-rated football player who seems to care more about his pronunciation of the word 'legend' than actually becoming one.
I saw on the news Beckham had just gone to Afghanistan (hero). He's comments were "it's just amazing". No David its f***ing war and you are just some silly icon who offers less than a paper-clip. keep smiling because that all you really do.

Fair anoof I spose. Still not sure they're the actions of a genuine all-round good bloke but there you go.

I thought Beckham admitted it was true in the end?

really? oh well

still, you would

I know a fair amount of people that have engaged in a moment of weakness. It doesn't make you a bad person, I feel, just human.

A prolonged affair and lying is a different kettle of fish. I don't know enough about the Loos incident to comment on this particular case.

I get ya.

Having done a quick search it appears he didn't admit to it, although there seems to be a lot of allegations that the 'fling' may have lasted a few months. Guess I shouldn't be making judgements without hard facts, but I get the impression he did do it.

Probably. I expect Beckham has had a fair amount of women throw themselves at him! I think I would have crumbled at the first offer! But I am sure that says more about me than him!

here and there
He flew into back into RAF Brize Norton this afternoon after his weekend in Afghanistan.

Got his autograph and a few snaps of him which will follow later once i finish work.

Despite delays getting back and the fact he's due to be meeting up with the England squad for lunch today he still took the time out to sign some autographs for the troops.

Came across as a really nice fella and has certainly gone up in my estimation.

Top Bloke!!

Pics to follow

did you pull?

I think a lot of people just can't accept that someone so talented and loaded and handsome (whoa Leslie) can also be such a down to earth top geezer - the man is a solid gold legend and would certainly get an invitation to my dream dinner party table...
And all that having played for Man feckin' Utd for more than half of his career.
Still can't believe he won't be playing in South Africa.
