He flew into back into RAF Brize Norton this afternoon after his weekend in Afghanistan.

Got his autograph and a few snaps of him which will follow later once i finish work.

Despite delays getting back and the fact he's due to be meeting up with the England squad for lunch today he still took the time out to sign some autographs for the troops.

Came across as a really nice fella and has certainly gone up in my estimation.

Top Bloke!!

Is there anybody left who seriously doubts he is anything other than a TOP bloke?

He's an absolute legend.

Bloody right. He loves our country, I've never doubted that. I disliked him at United (just because they always won) I started to watch La Liga in 2003 when he went to Madrid...and still do...because of him. When he won the La Liga, he had the St Georges cross wrapped round him, I loved that.

He's soo much more then just an England legend.

Dave is awesome!

People who knock him are just jealous, purely & simply. He is a unique individual who does well in everything he does, good luck to him. He is a legend & a great ambassador for England.

whoever said the new diana is not far off, this guy is so much pro-britain pro-england, and clean living (ish) that if he did peg it tomorrow (god help us) the outpouring would be huge, from birds, blokes, footie fans, queers, everyone, it would be as phenomenal as that M1 journey and all the flowers stuff.

he is, already, a legend.

I think he's a nice enough bloke, but I personally find the amount of over-exposure he gets (since God knows when) pretty cringe-inducing tbh. Sorry.

If all he was worried about was exposure I don't think he would have decided to go to Afghanistan. Give the man some bloody credit!!

Top bloke and I saw him play in his Man United debut at the Goldstone. Dunno whatever happened to him after that...

Fair play to him going to Afganistan, but that's just my point in many respects. It was HIM who went there; him who did the 'famous face' biz in the Olympic bid; him handing that bloody great book over the other day & going on about "passion". I just wish I didn't see his mush on everything & anything to do with football/sport concerning this country. (Over) Familiarity & all that.
