Couple of questions - sorry if they are a bit simple, but I'm not sure of the answer....

1. I've just bought a 1TB external hard drive. Can I move my iTunes folder from my C:/ drive to the new external one without losing all my links?

2. I've probably only got about 300gb of information to put onto the new drive - i've heard about 'splitting' it to provide a back-up - what is this?

When I've moved music from one folder to another, the itunes library can't find it, I imagine this will be the same if you move it to the external drive. It should be easy enough to sort out, just delete the library, then import the music folder from the external drive.

It might help to delete the library file (music > itunes > itunes library (with an icon like <o> on it) after moving the music to the external drive.

I don't know about your second question, sorry.
