At the foot of the downs
Brighton v QPR
Long-term casualty Dean Blackwell (knee) is Brighton's only absentee for the visit of QPR.

On-loan striker Darius Henderson returns to the squad after being cup-tied by Reading for the win over Bristol Rovers.

Midfielder John Piercy, who has missed Brighton's two previous games this season with a stomach bug, came through a midweek reserve game against Chipstead and is in contention.

QPR's Kevin Gallen and Gareth Ainsworth will both miss the trip to the Withdean Stadium.

Gallen irritated a thigh injury while Ainsworth suffered a hamstring strain in the Carling Cup win over Cheltenham.

Rangers, who have just 19 senior players, may struggle to have five substitutes for the game.

Isn' t this exactly the sort of game that Brighton lose?

I remember Cheltenham and Exeter struggling to put out sides in our Div 3 days: we lost both of them.

Since then, I'm always wary about sides with injury problems - but let's hope I'm wrong and the Rs are really pants tonight.

Loads of teams have been coming to Withdean with only YTS boys - and suddenly all the first team are in perfect condition. Believe it when the first whistle goes not before!

Absolutely, last season Wimbledon were supposed to be coming down to the Withdean barely being able to field a fit team, when all of a sudden just before kick off they had a fully fit squad...
