After this weekend's results, all we need to do is match the points tally of the teams around us until the end of the season and we will be in the play-offs!

Or, in other words, Hull, Cardiff or Blackpool need to do better than us in their final 7/8 games to prevent us from finishing in the top six.

Here are the maximum achievable points for each team:

1 Southampton 99
2 Reading 94

3 West Ham 93
4 Middlesbrough 85
5 Birmingham 84
6 Brighton 83

7 Hull 82
8 Blackpool 81
9 Cardiff 81
10 Leicester 79
11 Leeds United 78
12 Crystal Palace 77

Also taking into account that some of those teams have to play each other- they can't all reach the max points total.

Its looking good so long as we keep picking up points.

Just hope the majority of them draw !!! Havent a problem with any of the top 3 winning though, maybe they could do us a favour even. 75 points i would have thought should be enough

The fact that it's in our own hands is the best news. Winning League One was all about taking each game as it comes and going out to win each game, wherever and whoever we play ( a philosophy I see N. Adkins has adopted instead of the 'if the other teams can keep up with us' nonsense). Expect to see this kind of focus from now until the job is done.

I would rather have our squad and manager than either of theirs!

Yes I would too! But I keep looking at our fixtures and getting nervous!

Our home games look tough, and our away form seems to be slipping. I just can't see us picking up that many points compared to the other sides, who have easier games.

Then again, other results do seem to keep going our way! But how long will this continue for? gah! *bites nails*

Our home form will be key in the run in in feel. Especially with the likes of Middlesborough, Reading and Birmingham all to visit. All three of them will have an eye on the promotion picture.

I'd rather have either of their sets of fixtures than ours

We'll not make the play offs.

Middlesboro home - win

Burnley away - lose.

Reading home - lose.

West ham away - lose.

Watford home - win.

Birmingham home - draw.

Barnsley away - draw.

8 out of 21

changed the boro to home win.

You're gonna need better bait than that.

This is the albion - we'll beat Middlesbrough, Reading and Birmingham at home, but lose in a shocking performance to Watford

The writing is on the wall and I see no reason why we would not get in playoffs over the other sides around us. However getting into them is one thing winning them is quite another!

Beat Barnsley and get get draws against Burnley and West Ham and we should be alright. Can afford 1 defeat, 2 is pushing it, hit 3 and we need s lot of luck. Good we have the harder games (except West Ham) at home.

It'll be interesting how west sham react to dropping out of the automatic slots for the first time in months (I'm guessing that's right). It's going to be close until the end.
