A reminder of what David Blunkett said about the Amex atmosphere on the evening of the play-off semi against Sheffield Wednesday...

"Well I’ve never experienced anything, in the many years I’ve been a Sheffield Wednesday supporter, like the first quarter of that game last night.
It was a forcefield. It was a forcefield on the pitch and off it. The sound was unbelievable, the emotion was so high that we were all holding our heads in our hands and literally shaking."
Some of that tonight, please!

Worst thing about this tie was the home-leg. We were decimated with injuries and Knocky had a foot as black as the ace of spades but took injections. Same thing away at Derby in the play offs (Chicksen left back I think) if I remember rightly. Just a hurdle too far with a squad absolutely down to the bones.

Michael Vaughn said something similar. It wasn’t about the crowd as they are Massive, it was our play.

But a pin popped the Albion balloon when the cnt scored a deflected equaliser on 28 minutes. Game over. So irrationally cocky, Carvahal said on final whistle “Now we can wake up the giant”..

Karma …. boy I loved the Wembley play off result :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

I'm constantly amazed that we managed to come back from the agony of how that season panned out. Quite remarkable, as David Coleman might have said.

Gawd i remember when Dunk scored that goal….roof nearly came off
One of, if not my favourite Albion memory. Spine-tingling just thinking of it. Hugged a stranger and people standing on their chairs behind me celebrating.
