I liked the 80's feel of the first one (remake) but I thought over all it was poor. It was well reviewed though by most so obviously that's just my opinion.

One thing is for certain looking at that trailer. They defiantly have killed Bowers in the first film as in both the book and 80's mini series, he stabbed Michael putting him in hospital for the remainder of the movie. Yet Michael is in the sewers with them.
